So, after my two month experiment, I've decided to quit DA.

A friend of mine told me when I joined DeviantArt that in order to get hits, I should go around and leave comments on other peoples' sites. So, taking this great wisdom, I did just that.

Well, going to the main DeviantArt site, I kept hitting refresh so that the 'recent devinations' would be recent enough. And when something caught my eye I would make a comment or two. And that led to about a grand total of 30 hits.

That really wasn't the only thing that kind of got to me. My low hit count, while a bit distressing, wasn't nearly as distressing as the fact that it won't be increasing by any substantial means anytime soon. Here's why:

I do not like anime OR anthro art. I do not like these genres. I can tolerate them enough, I guess, but when they're all over the site, when everytime I hit refresh I'm blasted with 12 year old middle american children drawing really really poor quality anime superhero robot ninja magicians, I can't take it anymore. Not to mention the anthros- it just doesn't work for me. And I understand that this online community is based primarily on these two things.

I can't change this. When I got too fed up I'd leave a disgruntelled comment on some anime fanart page, and thats really not cool. Thats not cool for them, seeing a new comment and then reading that its a bad one against a whole art form. Sure, I don't like anime, but I should keep that to myself. Its not fair to take it out on people like that.

Alright. So my hit count is low and I don't really like most of the things on the site.

I'm glad some people got to read Randals Bar, though. It really is something I am passionate about and love doing and hope to do for the rest of my life. My friends and I are working on a site that will host Randals Bar. Believe me, Randal's Bar is not dead.
